A new baby girl card

This card to celebrate the arrival of a baby girl uses a die-namic from "My Favorite Things" called "Notched Tag" to create the tag, the onesie and all the butterflies. When I attached the butterflies, I stuck some straight to the cardstock and then used pop-dots for some of them.

The patterned paper comes from the Kaisercraft collection called "Fine and Sunny."

Feel better card

This card was made with paper from Kaisercraft (I can't remember the name of this collection, but I think the red paper was called "Empire") and a matching stamp and die-namic set from "My Favorite Things" called "Umbrella". I love this die as it has the whole umbrella shape and also each of the segments, giving the umbrella a much more interesting look.

Congrats - An engagement or wedding card

This was a simple card I made by cutting out some hearts using a die from the "Notched Tag" die-namic set by "My Favorite Things" on some scrap paper. I attached them to some shiny pale pink cardstock, put some liquid pearls on and some ribbon.

The sentiment was formed by cutting out a circle from the pale pink paper and placing the hot pink paper with the sentiment behind it. The sentiment was stamped from the matching "Notched Tag" set.

Celebrate a new baby girl with a handmade card

After all the baby boy cards I've been making lately, I thought that it was time to make a baby girl card.

This one uses some patterned paper that I picked up from Lincraft as well as some dies that I cut on the Big Shot using a die-namic and stamp set from "My favorite Things" called "Notched Tag." This set also includes the stamps that I used for this card (as well as lots of other stamps and dies too!)

A baby boy card

This card to celebrate the arrival of a baby boy uses two of my favorite things. First, I love this patterned paper that I found in Lincraft of some circus animals. I've used it for quite a lot of cards, and fortunately bought quite a few sheets of it at the time as I think that it is so nice.

The second product that I like is the die-namic and stamp set that I used to make both the tag, the onesie and the stamp. They come from "My Favorite Things" (MFT) in a set called "Notched Tag".

I finished the card off with some kitchen string, some plain blue cardstock and some little sparkly blue and silver stars and circles to add a bit of "bling".

A baby boy card

This baby boy card was created using the "Notched Tag" Die-namic from My Favorite Things for both the tag and the onesie that is attached to it. This was positioned on some patterned paper (I'm unsure of the source), with some kitchen string wrapped around the patterned paper.

To complement this, I cut out a circle from the patterned paper and carefully stamped a sentiment "baby boy" from the "Notched Tag" stamp set on the yellow paper underneath the patterned paper.

A nerdy handmade card

This is a card that I made for my nerdy husband, using the "Technologic" collection from Kaisercraft for the two patterned papers forming the background, as well as the two robots.

The tag in the bottom right corner was taken from the My favorite things "Notched Tag" stamp and die-namic set, that includes both the notched tag, the heart and also the stamp "u r my." I finished the card off with some plain orange card, some brown ribbon and some kitchen string on the tag.

I'm pleased to report that my husband loved his card!

A beautiful day

Here is a card I made using some paper from Kaisercraft's "Fine and Sunny" as the two patterned papers found in the 6.5" by 6.5" paper pad. The two flowers also come from Kaisercraft.

The  sentiment was taken from My favorite things "Framed Greeting" Die-namic stamp set. The beauty of this set is that it contains both the die that can be used in the Big Shot Sizzex machine, and then the coordinating stamp.

Finally, the card was finished with some plain green backing paper, some brown ribbon and a couple of pearls in the bottom right corner.

Baby boy card

To celebrate the arrival of a baby boy, here is a card I made using the "notched tag" stamp and die set from MFT. The onesies and stars were cut using the die set on my big shot, and the sentiment "baby boy" was from the matching stamp set. The card was finished off with some baby blue and white striped ribbon and two pearls were attached to the centre of the stars.

Little birdies on a wire

Here is another card I made using the notched tag MFT die set. This time I cut out 6 little birds from some different Kaisercraft paper. I ruled two lines on the card and stamped the bird legs/feet onto the wires, and then stuck the birds on with pop dots. The stamp for the legs and also the sentiment "so tweet", come with the die set. It is a great stamp/die set!

Get well soon!

This card was made using my new die/stamp set from MFT, "Umbrella." The umbrella was cut using this die on my Big Shot machine, and the sentiment and rain drops were stamped using the matching stamp set.

Baby girl card

Here is a card that I made to celebrate the arrival of a baby girl. I used some Sizzex dies from MFT to cut out the tags, heart and onesie. The stamp set also came with the die set.

Simple generic cards

These two cards are so easy to make, but in my opinion look great and can be used in so many scenarios! Think Birthdays, Get well cards, Congratulations, Thank you etc. I used both of these for birthday cards for two female friends.

To make the 'petal' shapes, I cut a square out of some Kaisercraft patterned paper and then rounded the opposite two corners using a Fiskars corner rounder. The only thing to be careful of here is to make sure that you round the right two corners so that you can position the petal with the right rotation.

For the first card, I used four different types of patterned paper from the 'Blushed' range to create four different petals. I then attached them to some shiny blue cardstock that I had run through my Sizzex Bigshot in the Quickutz Vines embossing folder.  Along the bottom, I attached some sheer white ribbon and then three small pre-cut pale pink flowers from Kaisercraft.

For the second card, I used four different types of patterned paper from the 'Empire' range of Kaisercraft paper to create six different petals. I positioned these on the card and attached a brad between four of these to help give the impression that the top four petals were part of a flower. These were positioned on some textured straw yellow cardstock that I had run through on the Quickutz Vines embossing folder in the Bigshot. For something different, I put the paper upside down so that the pattern was depressed rather than raised.

Thank you cards for baby shower

I have just started making thank you cards for my baby shower which was two weeks ago.

I have quite a few to make so I wanted to make something that looked nice but would be easy to make. I also wanted to use the same colour scheme as the invitations that my sister made. They are gender neutral in a lovely shiny green colour paper that we found at Lincraft.

I used some plain white cards and then stuck some of the darker green paper that I had run through my Sizzex Bigshot with my Quickutz Vines embossing folder. I positioned some ribbon across the center of the card.

The "Thank You" stampe is from Stamp World (B130) that I recently purchased from Bellbird papercrafts in Blackburn. This was stamped in black ink on some plain white cardstock and then positioned on some pale green card before being placed in the center of the card.

This card is very pink! On top of the base white card, I stuck some shiny hot pink card stock, and then placed some white ribbon across the middle of the paper. The ribbon is see through in the middle but has solid edges. I then placed some pale pink card that I ran through my Sizzex Big Shot using the Vines embossing folder. This piece of paper covers a bit less than half of the hot pink card (perhaps a third). I put some Ranger liquid pearls (platinum colour) on the pale pink card before attaching it to the hot pink card.

I then stamped a bird from the Kaisercraft: Flora and Fauna range in Versa Colour Opera Pink (number 24). I attached this to the card using pop dots so that it would standout on the card.

I finished the card with a couple of small punches from the same pale pink card which I stuck in the left corner of the card.

Three very similar cards

For Christmas, I got a Sizzex Bigshot and recently purchased a new embossing folder. The folder is made by Quickutz and is an A2 folder called Vines. I cut one A2 sized piece in a navy blue shiny paper and ran it through the machine. I then cut it into thirds to use in each of the cards to the left.

I also used the Bigshot to cut the bottom left corner shape out of gold shiny paper. (A Sizzex brand small die).

I then stamped three different messages - "Happy Birthday", "Thank you" and "Get well" - on white card which I then stuck on the same gold paper  as the corner die.

To join together, I placed the blue embossed paper and some stripy patterned paper on some standard green cardstock. I then covered the join between the blue and stripy paper with some ribbon before sticking the message in place and positioning the corner die.

These cards could be used for either females or males given the colour combination and the design.

Red Dragonflies

For Christmas, my husband gave me the Sizzex Big Shot. It came with a few Sizzix Sizzlit. My husband picked the "Architectural Accents Set" (654470), and so with it, I made this card of red dragonflies.

The base of the card is plain white cardstock, while the embellishments and backing card were plain red cardstock. I then placed a piece of patterned card that I got from Bellbird paper arts (in Blackburn, Victoria). It complements the Kaisercraft "Flora and Fauna" stamp set well, so stamped and cut out two dragonflies, which I coloured in the my Copic marker R24. Finally, the dragonflies were "pop-dotted" onto the card so that they wouldn't become lost in the background.
