A beautiful day

Here is a card I made using some paper from Kaisercraft's "Fine and Sunny" as the two patterned papers found in the 6.5" by 6.5" paper pad. The two flowers also come from Kaisercraft.

The  sentiment was taken from My favorite things "Framed Greeting" Die-namic stamp set. The beauty of this set is that it contains both the die that can be used in the Big Shot Sizzex machine, and then the coordinating stamp.

Finally, the card was finished with some plain green backing paper, some brown ribbon and a couple of pearls in the bottom right corner.

Happy birthday card

Here is a birthday card I made using some lovely patterned paper from Kaisercraft. I cut two 5 by 5 cms of contrasting patterned paper and then cut each square into three pieces by cutting from the middle on an angle to the 1cm and 4cm marks. I then swapped the middle triangles to create the pattern.

I attached the patterned pieces to some red card stock and attached the whole panel to a straw coloured card with some ribbon underneath.

To finish, I fixed a yellow flower with an orange gem in the middle.

I think this card could also be used as a get well card or a thank you card as it is nice and bright and cheerful. :)

This card is very pink! On top of the base white card, I stuck some shiny hot pink card stock, and then placed some white ribbon across the middle of the paper. The ribbon is see through in the middle but has solid edges. I then placed some pale pink card that I ran through my Sizzex Big Shot using the Vines embossing folder. This piece of paper covers a bit less than half of the hot pink card (perhaps a third). I put some Ranger liquid pearls (platinum colour) on the pale pink card before attaching it to the hot pink card.

I then stamped a bird from the Kaisercraft: Flora and Fauna range in Versa Colour Opera Pink (number 24). I attached this to the card using pop dots so that it would standout on the card.

I finished the card with a couple of small punches from the same pale pink card which I stuck in the left corner of the card.

Three very similar cards

For Christmas, I got a Sizzex Bigshot and recently purchased a new embossing folder. The folder is made by Quickutz and is an A2 folder called Vines. I cut one A2 sized piece in a navy blue shiny paper and ran it through the machine. I then cut it into thirds to use in each of the cards to the left.

I also used the Bigshot to cut the bottom left corner shape out of gold shiny paper. (A Sizzex brand small die).

I then stamped three different messages - "Happy Birthday", "Thank you" and "Get well" - on white card which I then stuck on the same gold paper  as the corner die.

To join together, I placed the blue embossed paper and some stripy patterned paper on some standard green cardstock. I then covered the join between the blue and stripy paper with some ribbon before sticking the message in place and positioning the corner die.

These cards could be used for either females or males given the colour combination and the design.

Birthday flower

I've been meaning to make this card for a long time but just hadn't got around to it. I got the original idea from here (this provides an explanation on how to make the petals of the flower).

The petals are made from patterned Kaisercraft paper from the Blushed range called Devotion P257. I used both sides of the paper to get the two colours. I then stuck a flower embellishment in the center of the flower for extra "bling" effect.

The background cards are Amercian Crafts Cardstock in colours Straw (yellow) and Blush (pink).

Finally, the greetings is a cheap clear stamp that I got from Lincraft and is stamped in black ink.

Here is a birthday card that I made for my sister who is turning 19 next week. I made this card using some new products that I purchased from the Geelong Kaisercraft outlet.

This is a birthday card I made. The large flower is 3D and the other smaller flowers are cutouts.

Generic female card

Although the title of this post sounds bland, the card I made wasn't. Like my first attempt, I made another 3D picture card.

This card does not have a message in it so I'm not sure who I will give it to. I think I will probably use it as a birthday card.

First attempt

With my supplies at hand, I started to make my first card. It is a 3D picture card. It is created by cutting out 4 identical pictures, but removing things in the background from each layer. The pictures are then layered on top of each other with small foam circles in-between to create some depth. I set the card onto coloured card and also stamped the words "Thinking of you" to the bottom.

I was quite pleased with my first attempt. My husband was even impressed enough to give me permission to give it to someone!
